Loschy Hill Sweater Pattern to download. This unisex sweater is knitted using our wonderful Aran yarn. It features with an interesting dragon-skin textured pattern on the body and a comfortable funnel neck. The sweater has stocking stitch, set-in sleeves. The funnel neck allows you to comfortably wear a scarf underneath, if you don’t like items tight around your neck.
The textured stitch is not as complicated as it looks, no cable needle required. It uses a combination of Knit and Purl stitches, SSK and K2Tog. Aran-weight yarn means you will knit this up a little quicker! Doulton Border Leicester Yarn’s slaughter-free Aran-weight yarn is especially soft and squishy, making it the perfect yarn for cosy garments. Our Aran is available in a range of wonderful Yorkshire-inspired colours. Choose a shade to show off the dragon-skin stitch pattern.
Loschy Hill Sweater was designed specifically for Doulton Border Leicester Yarn. Its softness is perfect for textured knits such as this, and it gives great stitch definition. It also has the necessary body to support a garment and keep it in shape.
According to Yorkshire folklore, Loschy Hill in North Yorkshire is the final resting place of a dragon-serpent whose reign of terror was ended by brave knight Peter Loschy and his little dog. His ancient tomb, which shows his effigy complete with a body of armour and his faithful dog at his feet, lies in the church at Nunnington.
