Armley Mills Beanie Knitting Kit.

This hat was inspired primarily by Armley mill and all the woollen mills that line the Leeds Liverpool canal, with their rows and rows of windows and their once smoking chimneys. The sheep in the foreground are a reminder of where the wool of the area starts its journey.

The pattern for this beanie also features in our book From Moors to Mills.  This fascinating book includes essays on Yorkshire’s role in the developing wool trade, plus patterns for garments and accessories.  And, as knitters, we all play our own part in continuing that journey.

The Armley Mills Beanie Knitting Kit contains the pattern plus necessary mini skeins of yarn.  The beanie is knitted in the round with 5 25g mini skeins of our rare breed, slaughter-free yarn, using stranded knitting technique. It is a truly 100% British wool product.
