This weekend we were at Yarndale 2018 ,at Skipton, along with a host of other vendors. We packed up our yarn, mini skeins, fleeces, tops, knitting kits and patterns and off we went, over the hill to Skipton,.
A couple of hours later we arrived and had to unpack everything and set it all up at the Auction Mart where the event was taking place. We got there at 2.30 and finished setting up at 7.30. Back home for a quick night's sleep and then up and away at 6 the next morning.
The stall did look good and we were really pleased with it. At 10 o clock the doors opened and the crowds came rushing in! The people who run Yarndale are so professional. Everything is managed so well. A good mix of vendors with different types of products. Great pre show publicity. Good layout details so everyone can find what they want. Lots of places to sit down and rest weary legs. Buses to get those customers who have no transport, to the show and back.We were so busy and it was good to see that people do love our yarn and all our other products too.At 5.30 the show closed and boy, were we pleased to be able to go home for food and a good nights sleep.
Up and away at 6.30 this time. The show opened at 10 and again, the customers came rushing in. Not perhaps as many as the day before but still a lot. We had visitors from our Ravelry group turn up to say hello and a visitor from the USA! We were rushed off our feet which was extremely gratifying for us. A lot of work had gone into getting ready at our end and our customers showed us they appreciated it by buying lots of our yarn and products from our slaughter free flock of pedigree Border Leicester sheep.
Roll on next year!!
